HARRIET SOBIE GOLDSTEIN: REACTION TO VIOLENCE
Recent Abstract Oil Paintings

"Day Dreaming" Oil on Canvas 48" x 36"

"These paintings are my reaction to the uncertainty evident in the world. Some reflect the agitation and sadness that events like the recent spate of gun violence engenders in all of us. Others reflect the calm we all seek."
Harriet Sobie Goldstein

Harriet Sobie Goldstein, a professional artist, is currently focusing her work on abstract paintings. She completed her undergraduate degree at Hunter College with a major in Fine Arts. Ms. Goldstein then continued her studies in painting and printmaking at a number of schools in New York City and New Jersey. During her career while teaching in the New York City Public School System, she taught her fellow teachers how to infuse art into the curriculum. At present, Ms. Goldstein serves on the Executive Board of Salute to Women in the Arts, a New Jersey-based arts organization and the Phoenix Gallery. Please join us at the reception on May 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM to meet Ms. Goldstein.
