JOSEPH G. BROWN Skins Brown's work is strongly influenced by his growing up Jewish with a mother who, with her family, escaped from a small town near Kiev in 1907. His growing up with this heritage in a part of this country known for anti-Semitism has inevitably affected his view toward prejudice, racism, and all forms of discrimination He believes that this angst is paramount in his work.
