Comprised of video installation, wall installation, and sculpture, the exhibition considers how we displace ourselves from our current location to other real or imagined landscapes. The ultimate transmutation and absence of the body is marked as our final displacement. Winn Rea's process-based environmental art has been exhibited internationally and supported by grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts and the Vermont Studio Center. Pamela Flynn: Barrier Study #3 Mixed Media/Digital Image/Colored Pencil This work bids the viewer to consider structure, placement and one's relationship to a wall or fence: physically/conceptually/politically. A barrier to one person may be a means of protection to another. The purpose of this work is to bring attention to the barriers that persons must climb (figuratively and actually) everyday, in order to share in the American dream.
