INSIDE OUT: new works by LESLIE CARABAS
The Phoenix Gallery presents Inside Out, a solo exhibition of new
works by LESLIE CARABAS at the Phoenix Gallery, Chelsea, New
York, September 5 - 29, 2012.
Carabas' practice investigates the quilted stitch as visual mediator.
In this series it bridges the gap between mass-produced and handdyed fabrics, while simultaneously exploring the creative
opportunities presented by exposing the layers upon which it works.
The quilter's traditions are turned inside out in an effort to give form
to the emotional life of woman with Bernina in the post-industrial
age.
Leslie's career spans almost 40 years. Her work has been shown
throughout Europe and the United States as well as in Taiwan and
Japan and is represented in numerous private and corporate

The Phoenix Gallery is excited to present its first SEPTEMBER BASH on Thursday, September 6th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. The event will feature paintings, sculpture and mixed media pieces by Phoenix Gallery artists and a special, one-night ONLY Performance of "Instant Messenger" by Lindsay Mis.
