Jessica Gondek, "Enterprising Machines"
Enterprising Machines are works inspired by machine aesthetics that reference common tools and domestic utilitarian objects. My process begins with digital manipulations from vintage consumer catalogues published in the early 1900’s for Pratt and Whitney tools, and the Enterprise Manufacturing Company, maker of domestic gadgets. The digitally printed elements I compose recall blueprints or plans, and create a foundation for the modification of the context of these implements. Drawing and painting from observation of actual objects allows for transposition and mutability between layers of printed and observed information. The objects explored are simultaneously transformed denying their original functional purpose and asserting an animated physical presence and an internal narrative. www.jessicagondek.com

Labyrinth 311 is constructed with the "rule" that no lines cross over the previous lines in the drawing. The process emphasizes a focus on surface. The image provides a structure to respond to with the linear mark making activity. The actions involve divisions and subdivisions and subdivisions........ leading to a self-refining process that progressively becomes more specific as the drawing activity continues. www.johnhampshire.weebly.com

David Weinberg, "Palimpsest"
The inspiration for this series of composite images came from many sources: my recent interest in religious icon paintings from various religions and cultures, including Eastern Orthodox Christian and Hindu Tantric traditions; my fascination with ancient manuscripts, especially those of early Christian and Gnostic gospels; my life-long interest in both science and art; and a need to explore the numinous through visual experience. www.davidweinbergphoto.com
