NYC Mystique
Fleeting impressions and observations of Manhattan from the highways and bridges surrounding it have inspired this series of paintings. The weather and the time of day are of great interest to me. Especially, views of the city at night, in rain, and in fog. It is about experiencing New York City from afar even from above. It is about the intangible aspect of this mega city.
I am energized by drives around Manhattan as well as from walks on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River. On these walks, the waterways around Manhattan fascinate and inspire me. “NYC Mystique” consists of old and new paintings about New York City where I was born and raised; including realistic and abstract interpretations. I hope to communicate my feelings about the mystery of New York City.
