Artist Statement
These large encaustic paintings of hand guns are to be a redundant and a powerful reminder that gun violence is only a random step away from any of us.
Each gun is the same but then looking closely, each painting is different.
So much is the same in gun violence and so much is different.
I believe that an artist has a visual voice that can be used to sooth or to jolt the viewer. This work is meant to jolt. I take my visual voice seriously.
